1963 BJ7, I found a complete car

It looks all there but in rough condition. My guess is not running in a 15 to 20 years. Its sitting in a carport with junk piled on it.
If they want to sell is it worth much?
Maybe just a parts car?

Thanks for your opinion.

It all depends on the Rust. A very bad frame, will cost 6=10k in replacement, parts only will be cheaper. Engine rebuild is perhaps $2K in parts. Paint?? Could be $2K or 8K.

I think you should look under the car and show us pictures.

They are all worth saving (especially on someone else's dime). Show us pics, I think the BJ7 is the cross-over year and best 6 cylinder Healey produced.

Me too!

I love the lower rear end and old interior with the later hood and screen and it's easy enough to build whatever engine you want, but I'm happy pulling from 600 in top

My Dad had one, my wife did forty years ago and now we have another. My dad had a tri-carb 2 seater as well, but my brother wrote it off!

I agree! But fixing up a Big Healey is not cheap no matter how you do it. Rust in the floors, chassis, rockers and doors is extensive and time intensive surgery. But no Healey should be left undone. Can it be driven without those repairs....Yes/Maybe. But eventually it will have to be done.
Dave.

Scott, I love my BJ7. See if you can get the serial number off of it. My brother had a 63 BJ7 back in the 60s and 70s #19669. Don't know where it is. I have #20040.

You can add me to the BJ7 lover's list.... roadster style dash with roll-up windows and lower ride height (which, let's be honest, just looks cooler than jacked up later versions... IMHO). :yesnod: Yes, I love them all... but the BJ7 has a special place on the list.

Cheers,
Steve
