1959 100-6 Overdrive installation

I have a 1959 100-6 that came with and overdrive but a non overdrive transmission. I found and bought a used overdrive mainshaft that is in excellant condition but it looks like the cam on it is on backwards. I have an old manual but it doesnt show the mainshaft orientation in the overdrive. When I slide the shaft in the overdrive the cam doesn't reach the plunger which I assume is like the oil pump. Is the someplace I can get more detailed drawings/instructions? Also, the overdrive turns freely and I was thinking of just flushing it out with some solution and putting on new seal and gasget. Any advice. I will need lots more advice when I get to replacing the tranny mainshaft. I can send pictures if needed.

Chuck, this link to an well written article on the OD might be helpful. I found this article extremely interesting and comprehensive. I have never had to rebuild an OD, but this article seems to cover just about everything. At the bottom of the page from this link, you will find other links to more sections of the article. Hey Chuck,
Vette is correct, the Buckeye Triumph's Club series on the Type A overdrive is the best I have seen anywhere. Plus there are a couple of great videos on YouTube. Just search "rebuilding Austin Healey Overdrive" on it and you will pull them up.

To answer your initial question, the eccentric is furthest from the XMSN/closest to the OVD:

Thanks vette, bighealeysource and Randy! Great pictures Randy. The mainshaft I bought definately has the eccentric on backwards. Looks like it is time for a trip to the engine shop to have it turned around. Is there a mark on the mainshaft it lines up with? Looking at the pictures Randy has, I may try to find a place to rebuild it for me. Any suggestions?
