1953 Ford Consul burned piston

Need help finding a piston for my car (#2). Head gasket leaked coolant into cylinder chamber and burned a hole on the side of the head. Totally destroyed the top ring. Simple fix. Already removed piston but can't seem to find anything for cheap out there. Might replace all of them if there is a modern set that fits. Think i'll polish the manifolds while I wait. Regards.

Thanks. Removed the other pistons and found every ring cracked. Will replace all rings now. Going to drop the engine and do a total overhaul. Maybe a new paint job. Any recommendations?

A decent four branch exhaust manifold makes a considerable difference to the performance of that car. I had one in 1966, it was a good car.

100E and 105E are the smaller Anglia, not the Consul.
My Dad had a 1960 Consul,the one with the fins that came after your rounded one. We picked up the car in Durban South Africa and drove by the "garden route" north to Rhodesia.
Unfortunately it proved unreliable and was replaced with an Opel Rekord.

Was at an engine shop yesterday - owner was showing me an Aston Martin piston $175 each. Said he has a guy in the USA who will make him basically any piston for $125 each. Didn't follow it up but you might even be able to google it.

Thorntons of Shrewsbury are the oldest motor factors in the UK, so if you need anything that you can get anywhere else, track them down. They are a good bunch and have what you don't expect.
