Rut, except for a bad cold, she is doing much better. It is looking like the problem was celiac disease (wheat allergy) all along. She cut out wheat years ago, but we found out it she was still getting it via unexpected sources.

My wife was diagnosed with Celiac a few years ago. I've become quite the expert on living that way -- the number of foods that have gluten in them somewhere gets pretty staggering when you have to cut it out 100%. But it is doable. I'm sure y'all are well up on the issues, but feel free to PM me if you want.

indeed staggering where we find wheat - and REALLY grateful for any diagnosis - and particularly for one that is more manageable than some of the other options being considered. thanks for the update!
