I have a new one of these given to me from a fellow car enthusiast. It's for negative ground cars prior to 1975 with point ignition systems. Any comments on this unit? PJ

You mean other than I want it? A few guys locally here in Indy have it on their cars and have only said good things about them.

this is from memory but I seem to recall Jeff Schlemmer (Advanced Distributors) saying that Crane works better in LBCs than Pertonix as it handles voltage fluctuations better - nice score!

Thanks guys for the good reports. I have the complete kit with various components for different distributor adaptations. Mine has the gold case, not black, I'm assuming it's the same as the black one. PJ

I've fitted them to V-12 Jags as well. Between that and an Optima battery, they light off every time regardless of the time sitting between runs.

Thanks Doc, that's good to know. I was amazed that it was given to me, just postage. Says a lot for the type of people that frequent these British forums! :encouragement: PJ

Paul, You probably already know this, but with the electronic ignition and a hotter coil, you can open up your plugs for a longer better burn as well. I've been running the B with .33 gap as opposed to the recommended setting which as memory serves was in the .26 range. Made a big difference immediately.

Only caveat is: Do NOT leave the ignition on with the engine not running. That seems to burn 'em out.
