Apparently there is a tool to remove the bezels that hold them in but would a pair of snap ring pliers work? Any DIY ideas?:confuse:

I ground down an old deep socket and left two tabs to grab the ring.

If the dash is out, most of the time I can just grab the plastic part on the back and turn. They usually screw right out. but the snap ring pliers will work. Be careful.

I use half of a spring-type close pin -- applied like a drift, i.e. placed at an angle in the notch then lightly tapped with a hammer. No chance of scratching anything (a risk with pliers or other metal tools).

Sometimes they aren't so much tight but just don't want to move easily. In addition, impact (hitting that wood drift) often works better than steady force (like pliers).

After making a gouge in the paint (the original crinkle is surprisingly easy to mar with a sliding tool, I think even a clothespin would leave a permanent mark), I made a tool by filing down the end of a short piece of pipe. Don't recall for sure offhand, but I think it was 1/8".
