TR2/3/3A SU Upper jet bearing position

I've been fighting an annoying leak on the front carb. Made multiple attempts to remedy using the existing cork re-soaked in oil, new cork soaked in oil, "leak proof" O rings. I think I have finally defeated it by using 2 O rings at each packing point. Question is this, the upper jet bearing does not come up to even with bridge. I believe it used to, or at least closer to it, but I don't see any reason that it would not now. I should also mention that I replaced the upper jet bearing, brass washer, the jet tube and the needle as part of my effort to resolve the leak. Thoughts?

Did you keep the old jet bearing that you removed? If you did then compare the length of it to the new one you put in. Does the jet come up above the jet bearing (to the floor of the carb body) when it is adjusted all of the way up? Short of a different part being used or the possability of having left an extra washer with the upper jet bearing your possbilites are few.
I would guess with the double O rings that your choke is really hard to use.

Beware that anything that moves the jet bearing to a lower position will lower the jet and make it impossible to get the mixture lean enough.

Thanks for the feedback. I do still have the old bearing and can compare. Interesting thought about an extra washer...if that exists it would have to be stuck up in there. The jet will come up to at least level with top of bearing. Interestingly, the choke is as easy if not easier to pull than when using cork.

Berry, yup...that's my concern.

Charley hit the nail on the head...some how had managed to get an extra washer on top of the upper bearing. Removed and reinstalled and things seem good...AND NO LEAK.
