I would like to invite everyone to join us in an event for people who really like to drive their

cars:

Greetings, All.

Into the Night Rally Team is proud to present on June 14, 2014, The Old Roads, a 7 hour Monte

Carlo style navigational road rally, Start in Lebec, Finish in Palmdale. This is the day before

Fathers' Day, so for all you dads thinking of running this rally, don't be shy about playing the

Fathers' Day card.

The course will feature many of our all-time favorite roads as well as some new favorites we

haven't used on a rally before. As usual, we've picked the roads most fun to drive and with the

least traffic. We'll cover a variety of scenic areas, from the joshua trees to the big mountain

pines, mostly on open, sweeping, untraveled roads with immodestly spectacular views.

Registration will be in the parking lot next to the Flying J on Frazier Mountain Park Road, just

off I-5 in Lebec at Exit 205. Registration will open at 10am.

All first time entrants please plan to be there for the 11am Orientation Meeting. As usual, there

is no entry fee for first time entrants. Registration will close at Noon. There will be a

general meeting for all entrants at 12:30pm, with the first car out at 1:01pm. Finish will be at

the In-'n-Out Burger on E. Palmdale Blvd. in Palmdale about 8:45 pm. The rally will cover about

320 miles. There's a fuel break about half way through.

There will be 5 classes for this event. We're adding a Group N for the Monte Carlo course, for

those transitioning to the map-based Starlite style instructions, to join Groups X and R. Groups

1 and 2 will get Google-based turn-by-turn route instructions, which make it a lot easier for

beginning teams to enjoy the rally. Check itnrally.org for the General rules and other info.

If you want to come up Friday night, accommodations near Start include:
Motel 6, 661 248 6625, and Holiday Inn Express, 661 248 1600.

We sincerely hope you can join us for this event. If you'd like to help out as a course worker,

we would welcome you. We do need one more experienced checkpoint captain. We will do a checkout

run on May 24 (Memorial Day weekend). Call Joe at 310 350 1360 if you would like to work the

event and/or run checkout, or if you have any questions about the event.

We will do a long rally later this year, probably in October. More to come on that later.

See you at Standoff.
