I've worked out a method that has done well for me: I install the spring as normal, install the panel, install the plastic escutcheon, and use a scratch awl to locate the hole in the handle and press hard on the handle into the door until the scratch awl locates the hole in the window winder shaft. Basically the scratch awl holds everthing in place where it is supposed to be. Then I take a small needle nose, or use a hemostat like what TR6easyrider uses, and get the pin in position on the opposite side of the handle. Start the pin in place, and very slowly withdraw the scratch awl. Hard to explain and takes some practice but it is workable.
