Hi - been looking at a TR6 online and was tring to track down the Comm No. Can't seem to find this one anywhere. CF 36130 UO. Any ideas?

Also, does the color scheme make sense, white w tan interior?

this car was reprinted, white, and also sprayed w Zebart rust proofing. Anyone have feedback on that?

any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Tommy

Hi Mickey -

Thanks for those links! Very interesting.

It seems this car has a tan interior. Pic attached.

Below is the rightup,

This is an excellent unrestored original car, even the tires are original, the spare has never been on the road. No rips or worn spots on the interior and no rust on the body or frame. The top and interior are original. The engine runs strong and is very dependable, starts every time. The transmission is smooth and the shifter is tight no play at all. The suspension, brakes, steering and rear end all operate perfect. I am the third owner and have owned the car for three years. I have rebuilt the rear suspension, replaced the carpeting, and the seat padding. The original owner had the car painted and had Zebart rustproofing applied. Everything else is the way it rolled off the assembly line. The car comes with a new Toneau cover, a car cover, the original air cleaner housing, original rugs and all suspension parts I have replaced. All gauges and lights work. The car is a blast to drive and sounds exactly the way an English sports car should, it always gets lots of complements.

What the car needs; fresh tires, new top (original has two rips that have been repaired), re-chrome existing bumpers (original starting to pit), horn not connected, windshield washer pump not working, dash light dimmer bypassed (lights do turn on with headlights), and some minor chips on paint.

The car is very dependable and ready to drive and have fun with.

First few words bother me, excellent unrestored original car, car does look nice in your picture but doors panels are homemade, seats covers look correct but newer, new carpet, SO, how can you say excellent original unrestored car. Probably is a nice car but do look deeper.

:iagree:

Earlier cars had definite discrepancies from factory build sheets/commission numbers. But by the time TR6's rolled around, they were pretty consistent. According to the commission tag, that interior, if original, should be chestnut, which was pretty common with the white exterior, if I recall correctly.

Thanks everyone. All those points make sense.

My feeling is, why would a car w only 16,XXX miles need to be repainted and have new carpets, etc, put in?
Maybe if it had 116,XXX!
