Rambler, 1913

Although our family had two Ramblers from a later era (1956, 1961), this 1913 photo implies that each person in the car had a specific responsibility.

And it looks like two of the gentlemen are from Texas! (me too)

Love those old brass-era cars. Glad to see everyone's wearing a hat!

We have a "very rough-scale" 1902 Curved Dash Olds that I always run in our local St. Patrick's Day parade (plus other events).

By the way Sebastien Loeb just set a new record for Pikes Peak demolishing the old record (set last year) by about 90 seconds down to 8:13.9 in his Peugeot 208.

And speaking of Ramblers, since you mentioned cars from the 60s: I was just reading about the "Torino" (not the Ford car-truck thing).

This is a car originally built in Argentina by Kaiser when they had some ownership with American Motors/Rambler.

The Torino used a 1963 Rambler Classic mid-section and the rear section of a Rambler American from the same year. The nose was Italian designed by Pininfarina . Instead of the normal Ramber "six" they used the old Jeep OHC Hurricane Six (remember those?). The car could be gotten with three Webers and a ZF manual gearbox.

The car was originally labeled as an "IKA" (for Kaiser) but later, when Renault took the lead with AMC, the car was sold as a Renault Torino.

They are *the* classic car in Argentina today. They even put one on their stamps (see below). Sort of like having a '63 Corvette or similar here.
