Transmission Replacement Parts Source Needed

My 1959 BT7 is having the transmission overhauled, and I recently learned that the mechanic is having some difficulty finding some replacement parts. I am not sure exactly what he needs at the moment, but he does have Moss and Victoria British catalogs.

What other sources are there for difficult to find parts?

Are there any ways to upgrade my transmission and make it better than the original, while we have it apart?

Many thanks

including our exchange. Can I beat this price elsewhere or not?

John Esposito @ Quantum Mechanics Ltd. is a great source & extremely knowledable. He is at [203] 459-9612, 505 Wheller Rd., Monroe CT 06468 or e/mail - quantumechan@earthlink.net.
I do my own rebuilding but found John has those had to find parts not listed in Moss/Vic British. By the way Moss has the wrong split bushing for the end of the gear shift lever. I tried to alert them to this but they're brain dead.

Many thanks for your input from me and my mechanic. I wish I could do the work myself,
but I am not confident enough to tackle a tranny.

I also recieved a wrong split bushing for the end of the shift lever from Moss. I went round and round with them and they said "well no one else has said this is the wrong bushing. This means we have 2500 wrong parts in stock." I ordered another from them and it was correct the second time. The wrong one was too small in diameter on the inside and I goofed it up pretty bad (messed up the retainer). I just cut my losses and run once it's sorted out. Some of the Moss phone people are really bone headed.

To Blighty - You found the same problem - internal ball dia. too small [wall thickness to great]. Victoria British have the right bushing. I was ordering some other parts from them and decided to try their bushing. Not only was it the right size but it was brass material in lieu of the more available nylon.
