TR2/3/3A TR3B radiator

Hello folks,

I have a very long term customer w/ a TR3B. I have worked on this car for about 30 years now...I am pretty particular about the parts that go into this, as it is quite a beauty, and the owner drives the wheels off of it. It has developed a leak in the upper tank, and given that we are in the DC area, where they have run all of the good reaiator shops out, I am looking for a replacement. My secret radiator genius retired and moved away. Bummer. So I looked at the TRF, and Moss motors. There is a significant difference in price between the two. Anyone have any experience with either one? Bear in mind that we are in DC, which despite it's location on the map, is in fact located in the tropics. I only want to remove the apron once, .... Any input would be welcome.

I got my unit pressure tested And cleaned at Dickies shop in Winchester...old guy very smart and reasonable.

another source, if you are looking to replace it with a new unit, is wizard cooling (wizardcooling.com) it is aluminum, with the correct brackets for a pure bolt-in installation. price is about the same as moss. if your customer is not concerned with pure originality, i would suggest the one without the crank hole---it increases cooling flow/capacity by close to 20% and makes a huge difference in hot weather/heavy traffic. you can see the difference on the temperature guage. mine has the optional electric fan which is controlled with a thermostat if you do get stuck in slow moving traffic on a hot day. good luck
