Thanks for sharing the pictures! In 2004, my wife and I drove my son's Mustang from Eastern Ohio to the Phoenix area. In 2005 and 2006, I made the return trip with my son. Although the trips were done on the interstates, between St. Louis and Flagstaff, these limited access highways followed Rt. 66. Invariably, when we exited the interstate for food/fuel/lodging, we found ourselves on Historic Rt. 66. I hope that on our next auto trip west, we can spend a lot more time on the old road.
Where was the third photo taken, with the route 66 shield on the pavement?
