I know my second gear/synchro at the very least will have to be replaced in my bugeye at some point. One of my strategies is to rebuild another smooth case transmission that Bill gave me so that I do not have down time. I know it will take some time to locate the parts I need. I have never rebuilt or inspected a transmission before and need some information.
)How do you know if a transmission is close ratio or not?
)How can you tell if a part is worn and needs to be replaced without having a new one to compare it to?
)Would it be worth it to take it in some where and just ask them what needs to be replaced?
)Besides the second gear/synchro, what else is typically replaced in a rebuild?
