'61 Morris Minor Disc Brake Conversion

My '61 Traveller has the original 7" drum brakes. Since it is my daily driver, I'd really like to convert it to disc front brakes. I would be using an MG midget as a donor for parts. Exactly which parts are used from the midget? I have looked at several cars that have had this done, but none of the owners actually did the work themselves. Some tell me it is a strictly bolt-on procedure, others tell me there is some fabrication involved. I need an exact list of which parts I will be using (Spindles, wheel bearings, etc) and if there is any machining to be done.

Hello Bruce,
I used Midget brakes on the front of our Traveller. I used the Midget front hubs, discs and calipers. All I had to do was fabricate a mounting plate to attach the calipers to the upright. There is a small seal at the front of the master cylinder internal assembly, this seal should be removed or the pads will bind.

Sorry this answer is so late, might not help the OP, but someone may find it useful. You can use the front uprights and discs from a Morris Marina (may have been called Austin in the US), as they used practically the same suspension as a minor.

ah, but if you do you also need to fit Marina wheels as the stud pitch is different.
