Hey JP,

One less thing to check off the list.

Good idea to break it into smaller parts.

Cheers

OK so the dimmer switch bracket is cleaned and the dash braces. I also cleaned up some seats track rails and some other stiffener, not sure where the last one goes.
One seat rail is worn pretty thin so I want to see if I can repair it.....and if it ever quits raining here...I will try to get some paint on them....

Need to order more rattle can paint.

Hey,

Thanks again for all the encouragement and kind words.....I kinda hit the wall..but now I am back on track. Got a few more calculations and re figuring what I want to attempt and what to leave to more qualified techs.

Painting the dimmer bracket today...then some football.

OK so sometimes you have to know your own limitations....and my garage and welding....is a bad combination. So I loaded up the remainder of the body that had not been cleaned and took it to a shop. So this small victory is getting back on track.

The shop will clean the rest of the rust and paint....shoot some primer on then we sit down to assess the panels or what is left of them. I have about 95 % of the new panels already.

So how much labor can I afford. Time will tell. But I would like to finish in the next couple of years as well....

I hope by spring to have all the structual metal replaced.
Wish me luck..

Make sure you have the little guy in the pictured involved in the restoration. We need him in the future to have an interest in these cars.

Don't be afraid to tackle some of the bigger stuff. Lots of information and encouragement here. Restorations cost a fortune if you job most of it out.

Thanks for the encouragement...
John....I have to get the garage in better shape for the car when it returns..
Keith...everybody in our local group knows who the little guy is and he just turned five/He is in the newletter more than me...I think..
I will need more direction for sure so will be leaning on the forum when it comes back home.....no doubt.

JP,

Keep chargin'. The TR will be a fun car to admire and drive. You can rendezvous for breakfast in Clifton with the brave and the few--along with the Morris Garage types.
