The Goodwood Revival

Phew

All that trouble in installing the soft top on the BJ7 this year finally payed off. The weather over here at the week end was as I predicted - wet and windy. Friday was the best day, but Saturday was a bit wet and windy with a sudden down pour early on but dried up in the afternoon, got caught in a rainstorm though on the way home. Sunday was even worse with showers throughout the day.

It did not stop the racing though, and the crowds were out and about as usual. Sadly the 100S racing on Saturday did not make much progress up the order from 19th, but it was not last.

Sounds like period appropriate garb was a mac and wellies. I really want to attend someday.

Now I've never been to any of the great US classic events but 'one day', however having been to the Revival many times as Master Sargeant Frankenhealey (see below) it should be on any car nut's bucket list. The only downside I can see is you might bump into Jay Leno and have to hear just how many cars he has in his garage

Your not going to believe this, but in the rush to get there,- I live 30 minutes away and was up at 5 am to pack the car as I was the advance party of a group of six, to park on the front grid of the GRRC car park overlooking the track at Lavant Straight, I left the Brownie 120 at home Doh!

As to the soft top, it was not new, it was the old one going back on - just as difficult I expect, if not more so as I had additional material sewn on around the drainage channel, and yes it did keep me dry, that at least was a success. I have to say that the Flying Fortress that was there looked like a formidable machine, very impressive.
