At least for Calgary...

After several years of indecision (mainly by the City of Calgary), this is finally the last year for our local race track, and today is the last full day of club racing, planning to head down there today to take it all in, trying to put on my photojournalist hat...

This Corvette that now races with the Vintage Racing Club raced on the first day the facility opened (I think in the 1980's sometime)

There will still be some informal drag racing (Secret Street Friday's) for awhile just using the drag strip, but it's truly the end of an era... There is hope for the rebuilding of a new racing facility in four years or so, according to some credible sources... But for a few years there will be radio silence... :frown: Despite the fact that Race City was a rather crappy race track!
