two great events in UK

here in Blighty we've two great events coming up, the 1st is a mecca for many old cars & parts. Beaulieu Autojumble & the 2nd. my favorite Goodwood revival It's the 75th aniversary of the Spitfire (WW2 aeroplane) there's going to be a mass take off & display of at least 12 of them, going to be spectacular. Most people dress up in period costume, which is anything up until 1966 when in when the circuit closed. Everything within the circuit pre-dates this. Nothing newer is allowed in, even visiting aeroplanes.
Anyone coming??
I'll be sure to take photos & post a few.

One of my life's goals is to go to Goodwood.

The process of building my racing A35 was greatly influenced by ~This~

Yes, pictures please!

I went to Goodwood last year and loved it. The only thing that I didn't like was that the paddocks, where many of the cars were staged, was off-limits to everyone except Goodwood club members. Maybe I'm too picky, but it is my experience here in the US, at Daytona and elsewhere, that when you buy a ticket, you have access to the facilities, or at least the same access everyone else has. Felt kind of like a second-class citizen at Goodwood and that rubbed me the wrong way. Other than that, it was a marvelous experience. Jim

I do have some nice pictures--extra credit if you can identify the orange car.

Great photo!

The orange car is a Tatra 603. Built in the Czech Republic. It has a rear-mounted V8 (that's air-cooled!).

An interesting luxo-barge built for the wealthy and powerful in the old Soviet Union.

And that's Rae Davies blue A35. He and I have e-mailed back and forth. His car is the one that inspired me to build mine.

I agree that keeping the paddock separate from the paying customers is annoying. There are cars that are at least as rare and valuable at the Lime Rock Vintage Fall Festival and anyone can walk right up to them (ie-Tony Wang's $20 million Ferrari GTO, Ivan Dutton's Bugatti T35b, etc). The Lime Rock paddock is completely open to all.

Yes, it's not like I am going to go up and sit on the hoods (or bonnets as the case may be). You were spot-on with the Tatra. Neat car and an odd exhaust note. Jim

Well Goodwood Revival was quite spectacular. Drove there & back with roof down & didn't get wet either.
There is a special car park foa anyone bringing cars built before 1972. It was stuffed full with a great varity.
There was some great racing, which got rather exciting when it threw it down.
You can look round most of the pits, it's just the most expensive cars which they limit the numbers by allowing Goodwood Road Racing members only, it is a shame.
If you like old planes these are also only allowed in if they're built before 1962 (date when the circuit was originally closed). Including the last flying B17 in Europe & more than a dozen Sptifires. here's my photos
