The French really didn't like the Mini winning outright. They couldn't figure out how BMC was "cheating" to make such a small engined car go so fast. Ah, the advantages for FWD clearly demonstrated!.

There is some irony to the Citroens having the same lamps.

Mind you.....the Citroens were also FWD. I read somewhere that the Citroen team refused to accept the trophy, as they felt that the Minis had been unfairly disqualified. Anyone else read that or did I imagine it?
