Tonneau cover attachment points

Anyone know the correct attachment points for a tonneau cover on a 1959 BN6? Most are on but I am wondering if there are snap ons behind the front side panel hole.

Chuck: If you are referring to snaps on the rear bulkhead behind the driver's seat, my '59 BT-7 doesn't have them, but I don't know how original it is, either. AL Bradley

Thanks Al. I'm actually referring to snaps on the front edge of each door. There are turn clips on the dash at either side but it is along way from them to the turn clips past the doors.

Randy, I had a BN6 in 1961, and I now have a BN4, neither had any snaps, lift-a-dots whatever on the doors as original from the factory. Not sure if some aftermarket tonneaus had this feature.

Chuck: Neither of my past or current BT-7s has had a snap of any sort on the door itself - just the snaps on the dash (twist type) and behind the door (lift-a-dot). That does leave a lot of "flapping room" for the tonneau between those points. I suppose more fasteners could be added if you wish to reduce the flapping, though. AL Bradley

I have a tonneau on my 58 BN6 and there are no attachment points on the door. The tonneau does flap a lot in the wind when I leave the passenger side attached while driving. I have been trying to figure out a way to get rid of the flapping, without installing another attachment point on the door. The tensioner sets, like you see on the 4 seater tonneau's, will not work. I am considering sewing or somehow attaching a piece of aluminum(lightweight) wrapped in vinyl, to the underside of the tonneau on the outer edge, where the tonneau almost covers the aluminum trim on the door. If it is long enough, it should keep the tonneau from flapping.
Do you think this would work?

Just an idea (and strickly not concours) but what if you sew a few small pockets on the inside of the tonneau and use small neodymium magnets. These are very powerful so should hold the tonneau from flapping (assuming your tonneau can cover portions of the door that are steel. Good, low cost source for the magnets at:

Sounds like it may work. Please let me know if you try it and the outcome. I definately don't want to put any unneccessary holes in my doors.

That may work. I don't have the cover installed yet so I am not sure how much it will overhang the aluminum trim. If its enough I may give the magnets a try.
