MG Midget

I guess this is the best place to post this. I was driving west on US 280 south of Birmingham, AL with the temp at 101 F and a little red MG TD pulled up next to me headed west as well. What a beautiful little car! If that's not enough, as I get closer to Birmingham another MG TD is heading my way going east, also red and beautiful. I've only seen one TD out on the road in my life other than at a car show and to have two of them drive by at the same time was too cool! I wish I'd been able to take pictures to post, but it was about 3 pm and the start of rush hour. The TD going west had no trouble keeping up with traffic and was in the left lane the whole time at about 60 to 65 mph. Made my day.

I'm a little surprised at how often I see really neat LBCs around here. There is another red bugeye somewhere in town; I've seen it parked at the local farmer's market. And, last week, I saw a really pretty British racing green bugeye parked in the Torrance Beach area. I didn't have my camera, or I would've taken and posted a picture.

MGTs really are beautiful, and popular. Pricing has remained farily solid on them for many years. And usually the ones you see on the road are very nicely restored and prettier than when they were new. Always a thrill to see one.

I have no objectivity on this subject, however, I don't thank they ever made an ugle MG product. I like 'em all.

My fave are the 1500s. Maybe someday . . .

Lovely MG, though.

My first Brit car was a TC when they were pretty much just an old car. Had a ball in it and thrashed it seriously! Most predictable oversteer of any car I've ever owned. Think I did my first serious damage to my back when I hit a chuck hole though. 4 inches of suspention travel really wasn't enough!
