Since I don't post as ofter as I might and have been away for over a month, I just had to add something to the discussion on insurance:

I have had my cars and home and everything else insured with United Services Auto Assn (USAA) for over 40 years and consider them to be the best in the world. Several years ago when their policy was insufficient for my E Type, they recommended American Collectors. That's good enough for me and I have been happy with ACI since.

I'm with USAA as well and have been very happy with them for 20 years. But I have know folks who have had less that good experiences with them. Probably true for any company - there will always be some bad experiences...there are just so many variables.

Basil & Gene;
My Dad (USAAF/USAF-RET-DEC) got USAA in '46.. I became eligible in '73.. My Mom (URW) got her "Half Century Member" stickers in '96 and I got my "Quarter Century Member" stickers in '98.
I queried USAA about "eventually" adding my (under constant restoration) '53 Jag DHC to my policy as I wasn't interested in the "limited "Show/Antique" type insurance as I intend on driving my Jag..
Yes, I can add the DHC with my "normal" liability and the Full Coverage for "my" stated value would be charged at "X" dollars per $1000 value.. It won't be cheap but it won't be any worse than any car covered with Full Coverage, but it WILL be covered completely..
With five insured cars and three drivers (one 17 year old), I've found that no company can compete with USAA.
For those eligable for USAA and USAA-CIC, in my opinion, it can't be beat..
