'03 X-Type 2.5L Oil Pan Gasket R+R?
The front exhaust manifold exhaust pipe goes right under bottom center of the oil pan.
1) Any idea what it takes to replace the oil pan gasket?
Special tools needed? any Tips? Etc?
2) Does the front exhaust manifold have to be removed?
If yes, any idea how?
3) Does the engine have to be removed, lifted or dropped?
The Jag Dealer quoted $1100 to replace the pan gasket at 8 hours. For that labor time, I would think that the Engine has to be removed. It looks like the front exhaust manifold has to be removed, because the ft exhaust manifold exhaust pipe goes right under the oil pan and there is only about 1/4" of clearance max between the pipe and the pan. Also at 1st glance it looks like the front exhaust manifold is not easily removed.
Thanks,
Gary
