Here we go again. We just about got rid of one mess from two weeks ago and we're just half way through the next one. This is as of 8:20AM and we have another 6-8 hours of this coming.

I hate snow.....

We actually have about one foot right now, but it is very wet. The only reason my bushes and trees aren't bent over is that the wind keeps knocking the snow off when it blows. There are about 80,000 people without power and I hope that doesn't come to us as well. There will be another 8"-12" throughout the day today, then possibly rain, which will make a nightmare for the power companies.

Wow, that snow is really beautiful.

Our weather here doesn't give you much to look at (65 & sunny). 'Warm' doesn't photograph well.

I hate snow.....

I love it . . . . now that I'm retired. Just another chance to play with some toys. Here I am , early this morning, clearing a path for the TR's.

AND remember the snow and cold kills the palmetto bugs!!!

I have a 50" front mounted blower on my Kubota. When you live in snow country, it's best to be prepared. Cab with heated seat and defroster doesn't hurt either.

Not as big as your though. . .tractor envy? Size does matter but mine does a great job.

That snow is pretty to look at. I miss it when I look at your pictures, but not when I go outside. My banana trees got too cold -they look like someone took a flame thrower to them.

That snow blower reminded me when I worked on a farm in Pa. Nobody liked the owner until after I worked a winter for him. I used his tractor with 6' blower to clean all the neighbors driveways. That's the way to make friends.

I hope it's a burning itch too!!!!!

I've lived in snow country all my life. From the mountains of western PA to New England. It still sucks and as I get older, I hate it even more.

The driveway is now plowed and they'll come back to do the deck and patio tomorrow with the blowers. I did the front sidewalk and it is a back breaker with the wet stuff out there.

I'm running out of room at the end of my driveway. This is 30 feet wide, about 9 feet high and 15 feet deep already.

Don't have piles like that with a blower. Mine will blow 80 feet but at the end of the winter, we have some might piles at the street from the plow trucks.

Nice to be able to pay someone to do it all for you. We're not that rich, but I am that old I guess.

Peter, I either pay now or I'm not able to work from screwing up my back doing this stuff. It's a matter of the lesser of two evils and I'd rather go to work tomorrow.

About a year ago I added up the cost of all of my winter plowing for the last 15 years versus buying a good tractor like I had back in PA with a blower mounted it on it. Prior to that I did it all myself. Then I thought of my time and effort along with gas, storage and maintainence. My driveway is plowed early AM so I can be on the road by 6:30 on normal snow days and that means I don't have to get up at 3:30 to get it done before I leave and be exhausted all day.

I still need quite a few years of plowing to get even close to paying for a tractor and blower. Plus, if I'm traveling my wife doesn't have to worry. It's all done for her.

This isn't for everyone, but it works for me.
