Any one know a source for the correct tenax and lift the dot fasteners? These things have been made since horse and buggy days yet the usual suspects can't seem to find someone that can set up a screw machine to produce the correct tenax stud!!!

Thanks in advance, Kurt.

not sure what separates a correct one from an incorrect one? I bought my lift the dot from my Moss guy and it looks the same. Bought some tenex fasteners from my local upholstery shop and again to these eyes...

In my experience the biggest problem is the tenax stud.
For instance it seems the one in the middle on the dash is longer and has greater diameter than the ones around the back on the body. This seems to be designed in order to hold that front connection on a tonneau cover securely. I find the studs on my Midget MK1 to be different from the studs on my Midget 1500.
I do believe (as in "I know for sure") there are different size studs, so what that means to my thinking is that if you put the "wrong" one in the place you are trying to fasten it wont work as well as the "right" one for that spot.

Well to be specific, the tenax stud I got was machined with a longer shank and smaller knob on top than my old ones. I know it seems like nitpicking but that will leave a slightly wider gap between the top and car body which will let a little more cold air in on my wife! Knowing how easy it is to set up a screw machine I can only surmise that some foreign manufacturer could save a few cents per thousand so that is what we get. Same with lift the dot fasteners. Last I saw appeared to be made of thinner metal with smaller springs inside but , hey, a few cents are a few cents!

Just ranting!!

Kurt.

Tnx for the site's.
