.. but I'm tellin' ya these things have a personality. Drew's car looks happier now that it's on the road. It is literally smiling bigger. Now look at this one:

https://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1959-Aust...=item45f599c577

Doesn't it phyiscally look tired??? Look at it's expresion, doesn't it look to say, " I just can't go another mile."?

Doesn't it say, " Oh brother. Sombody please help me.".... or; should I look into taking medication?

and the fact the P.S one is tilted ever so slightly. I don't think I've seen a car more exhausted. Poor thing looks depressed.

Those are just wrong on a Bugeye. They do make it look droopy.

I think there is something in this, even if it's just in our own minds. Tunebug's been driven more this year than since the mid 1960s. I like to think he's happier for it. May just be my own delusion, but that's okay -- I'm happy living in my own little world. Y'all are welcome any time.

Wow, and they want $1750 for that. $500 at most.
When I got my car, it had been hacked for years by the worlds worst mechanics. Masking tape on hacked wiring, wrong switches with toggles all over the dash, crappy wood overlay on the dash, and MG seats thrown in with too many holes drilled into the floor to try and bolt them down. Then I got into it....new brake shoes put on, even though the rear brake hose was swollen shut and the rear axles were leaking and soaked the drums, front disc conversion had new pads on rotors with grooves almost all the way through, hub axle nuts held in with bent nails, and a caliper with both mounting bolt holes broken off and then brass brazed back together...crooked. And thats just the tip of the iceberg so far.

With all new brakes, new harness, restored dash, new exhaust, one correct seat restored and in the car and the other following in a couple weeks, Pertronix ignition, rebuilt generator, new battery, new regulator....well, she is smiling bigger and bigger. Now to get her black grille chromed and she will really be smiling! But my bank account won't be....

Look at the pic in Drew's sig, then look at the one of Tunebug on the hill. The car is smiling more.

That he does not have a title maybe? So what. That's not too hard.

Some places it is.
Washington State, for one.
And, if you get one of those "quickie" titles out of Georgia or Arkansas, they won't accept it (from what folks in the hobby locally tell me).
Maybe the "other" is a salvage title.
Or, maybe it means his dog ate it.

To give you an idea how it's done here (a couple of years ago, anyway):

Vehicle that HAD a Washington State Title.
You got the car, no title.
Transport the vehicle to the State Patrol for full inspection of visible and secret location VIN numbers.
Go to the DMV.
Obtain necessary paperwork.
Write three certified mail letters to last known owner.
When they come back, do NOT open them.

Take the letters to the DMV.

Wait for the process to work it's way through.

When you get clearance, transport vehicle to the State Patrol, who will then affix, in a location of their choosing, a new VIN tag, sign off on the paperwork, and you get to go back to the DMV and finish the application.

This can take months.

And then, there is a LONG period of time where the "new" title and VIN can be challenged.

For me, unless clear title and numbers match, it would be a deal breaker.

Only one number on a BE and it can be changed easly enough to a new stamped one or to an old one. No hidden stuff.

Hmm, have a bill of sale from previous owner, no way to know who other owners may have been. All, state VIN systems are computerized with 17 numbers. Anything else like our BEs does not track and can not be tracked through the state systems. Heck even those of us with good titles, now, are not in the system as it will not accept less than 17 characters.
