The rest of the story:

A friend acquired this car about 5 years ago. I saw it and was green with envy. I had just given up on a 120 DHC restoration that was missing a bunch of stuff etc, This was an absolute complete no rust car out of 25 years storage. Recently, he saw a Healey 100 that I had just restored and said that if he ever decided to sell the 120, he would like me to have it. Not long after, he contacted me and said for health reasons, he had decided to sell the 120. We came up with a deal good for both of us and Bobs your Uncle

Its an early car (Aug 1950). Later engine but I have been offered an early engine. No, and I mean no, rust. Complete except top irons but has that neat (Carson?) top. Should be a (relatively) easy restoration.

I have a XK120 as well, mine is a 52 FHC. Very solid body, minor rust, in primer at present, engine rebuilt. This one was silver originally and will go back that color. Want to start it next.

Nice work, making some good progress. If nothing else, getting rid of the brown/gold paint is a huge improvement.

Jody wrote that a year ago the day before he accompanied me in my Healey 100 on our annual "Mad Dogs and Englishmen" run where we do 100 miles at 100 degrees. It was a little over 100 that day. Wife and I did it this year (last Sunday) with a temp at the start of 109 F. I wimped out and drove the MINI with AC.

HEY DOC!!!:

gelato is an ancient Italian frozen dessert, a far more recent variant of which is ice cream.
