Dipp Switch hook up

I'm not supposed to be working on my car for a few weeks, but I just can't resist. I thought I was getting better at figuring out the wiring diagram, but I need help hooking up the three wires to the dipp switch. How can you tell from the wiring diagram which wire goes to which terminal? Can someone tell me what wire goes to what side of the switch?

Also, can someone tell me the path of the dipp switch wires from the passenger side? Thanks for any help you can give me.

I'm not exactly sure which switch is the dipp switch, but, looking at the diagram, I'm guessing "Headlamp Dipswitch" basically, it will be Blue in and, blue/red out one side and blue/white out the other side. I presume it should be obvious which is which - either marked or one terminal by itself or something. If not, check continuity through the switch. Number the terminals. If the "in" terminal is #1, the "out" terminals would be #2 and #3 respectively. There should be continuity between #1 and #2. If you throw the switch, there should be continuity between #1 and #3. There should never be continuity between #2 and #3. In terms of hook up, because it is a push button (It is isn't it?) and because there is no neutral position - ie. no "off" it doesn't matter which terminal you hook the "out" wires too.

Yes, I am talking about the headlight dipp switch. It is the push type. The terminals are not marked, but there are two terminals on the top; one on the right and one on the left. There is also one terminal on the bottom. I had the same thoughts you did on the hook up, but I wasn't sure. I will try hooking it up and see what happens. Thanks,

Think you will find that top is ground, and right and left are low and high, makes no difference which.

shouldn't top be power? and then grounded at the light?

3 wires, solid blue (power to the switch) goes to the middle connector.
The other 2, blue/red & blue/white go to either other connector.
1 click is high, 1 click is low,
The switch doesn't care. It is a rotating contact inside.
As long as the solid blue wire is hooked to the middle connector, it will work.

I did as JP suggested and checked contacts for continuity. Everything checked out as he said. So, it was the solid blue to the bottom center, Blue/white stripe to the right, and the blue/red stripe to the left as I was facing the switch. Thanks again everyone,
