I'm not up on the tops. But I'd say this does not look like the factory top, for it has two pressed up area on the top. They appear to be air vents, but from the inside, not functional.

Anyway, just thought I share what has been produced for the Healey's over the years.

If the rear window area was accurate in size/shape, I'd like the lines of the vents if they were functional.

Brings to mind a question about the word "factory top" and Healeys with roll-up windows. I believe the Tops were made by Don Healey Motor Co. and not as a factory supplied top. The badges on the sides of the "factory" Tops do not say Austin Healey, they say, I believe, Donald Healey Motor Co. with logo. If what I've been lead to believe is correct, then there were no actual Factory Tops for BJ7's & 8's??? Anyone care to chime in on this?

The Astro is probably the better of all the aftermarket Tops offered ofr the BJ7 & 8's. IMHO

I may be wrong, but I think Tracy Drummen has one that looks like this on his BJ7 but he put a cool looking vent to circulate the air a bit.

I sold one like it 25 years ago $60.00, too ugly for me,fitted it once,didn't like it . cheers Genos2
