I'm sceptical of the milage. Carbs/ manifold look a bit too dirty for less than 10K. Stripes kill it for me too, doubt original paint. Who knows though..

It could be legit.I think that it was overcast when
the pictures were taken. You'd want to see it in person.
Is that an original color on the wheels?

Besides the wheel color, motor color wrong?, wiper motor completely painted?, steering wheel spoke broken, tach broken-2 different readings, just for starters.

Different year front fenders, one high turn signal and the other low. 9K miles and mismatched different year fenders? I'm a bit skeptical.

Otherwise (even with the above mentioned flaws) it's a spiffy looking car!

I couldn't resist, I asked the seller about the fenders, let's see if he posts a response. Way too many red flags to swallow this as a 9K mile car. Not that I care about mileage all that much, it's condition that matters in the end, isn't it?

Given the number of cars we've seen with this "feature" it almost seems like they came that way from the factory!

Wrong kind of seatbacks for a '66. The gear shift surround should be the same as body color. Nice looking car, but I don't trust the claims with all the anomalies.

Nice factory option twisted front bumper, too.

109K is more like it, eh, what?

It has definetly been banged around, I say at the very least it is a re-spray, 109 seems like to much and 9 is too little especially since both the odometer and the tach are shot? Lots of questions but the price is right if it stays reasonable.

I will disagree about the seatbacks-
I just bought a '65 (rollup windows) that had those same seats. Seems that they used-up the old '64 seats until they were gone and then started using the "'65" seats.
I am fairly sure that mine was reasonably correct since it was only 5 years old when it went into the storage unit where I bought it and everything else was original as well.

Well, the guy is sticking by his claims, even after the mismatched wings were pointed out. States the car has never been damaged, or painted. Interesting how they came up with a late front wing more than 3 years ahead of time, and accidently put it on that car :nonod: ... The car, no matter how nice it may be, and the guy have lost any credibility they may have had as far as I'm concerned.

I asked about the turn signal lights. Not mine on the Q&A section though. His response to me was "you're the pro you figure it out". His bluff has been called, still, he' gett'n the $$ isn't he? Too bad, this isn't a bad car but it isn't as portrayed. How could all that be changed in less than 1 year's worth of running? It was a very hard 9,500 I'll tell you what! Poor little baby.

Well you guys noticed most of the flaw's.I agree with Bryan--this guy has lost all credibility. Here's a couple more points. Bolts in trunk have been painted. Biggest is the engine. 9500 mile car with engine removed from car to be "tuned" and painted in the process? Notice the 948 valve cover? I believe this is an earlier engine. I bid but pinstipes are not my cup of tea nor mismatched fenders.

I am continually amazed by the number of cars on eBay and Craigslist that claim to have extraordinarily low "original" mileage. The chances of this being valid in virtually all cases is about as close to zero as it gets. I totally discount such claims unless the seller can document them.

In any case, when you're talking about a 45-year-old car, does mileage really matter? If the mileage is really that low, why? Was it put away for years? If so, why? Something serious must have gone wrong. And, even if not, is it really good that the car was used so little? Finally, low mileage doesn't preserve things that deteriorate with time, like rubber pieces.

The only thing that matters to me is current condition.

Agreed, except the thing I would be concerned about is a seller with zero feedback who very clearly has his own reality field generator.

Thats because you are in California. If a car spent 10 winters driving around Iowa you know that there is going to be major rust problems hiding under that car. I would hope to find a car that has been sitting around for 40 year, fixing the mechanical bits is the easy part and a car that has been forgotten is more likely to still have all the parts on the car.

I think it's reached a price about where the market is for such a car, mileage aside. I think it's worth about $5500. IMHO
