I just recived my voltage regulators back from Bob at Wilton auto elect, (I got the info from a earlier post). All new solid state conversion but looks original. I will be installing the pre 60000 in my TR3 and the other one goes to John with a post 60000. Now all I am waiting for is the upper split steering coloum, so I can finish the steering rack installation and put the car back together. Then drive and drive some more!!

Looks like nice work.

When I changed to an alternator, I gutted a non functioning regulator to keep it looking original. Replacement screws for the early ones are very hard to find.

Don't recall who or where offhand, but somewhere I've seen a link to a place that sells a 5-pack of them for just a few GBP.

Yep, that's where I ordered mine from, the only place I've ever seen them. It's the shipping that makes them costly.

OK. How 'bout a 7/16"-32 jam nut for the gearshift lever. Still haven't found one.

And chromed to boot. I broke out in a sweat when I thought the chromers lost mine on the gearshift I gave them. Not sure where you can source that part.

Thanks Randall. Now I need 99 friends that also need jam nuts for their TR3s. Looks like they also sell plated MS25082-18.

Looks like this is used in instrumentation and control, also. if you phone a manufacturer, they may send you a sample!

Too thin, find one about 3/16-1/4" thick!

Actually, I was thinking it might be easier to find something close then drill and tap it to 7/16-32. Probably could find a stainless or chrome jam nut as a candidate then.

Not too clear, but I believe that is cadmium or zinc plating, not chrome plating. The numbers are actually military part numbers, and I found another site that lists MS25082-18 as zinc plated.

7/16-32 is actually a standard thread size, part of the Unified National Special series. Not metric.
