MGB Too late to turn back now. 67 MGB

I drove my red 67 MGb yesterday and it was working great. Today I thought I would try to clean it up a bit. The engine front and rear seals drip a bit and the trans needs a 2nd gear syncro and layshaft. I was just going to do the engine bay but what the heck. I have the new interior sitting here and want the car painted before it goes in. This should keep me busy till spring. I'll post a few pics as I get cracking on this one. Bob

Bob; Do you always have to be busy?
Don't get me wrong, the work you turn out is second to none, but now you're tearing into your daily drivers.
Well just keep those photos coming, it does help the winter pass.

Wow! I'm the kind of person who could spend all day contemplating whether or not to do a valve adjustment. In the meantime you'd have your MG stripped, set onto a rotisserie and primed for finish coat.

BTW, Bob.....if you can't find your glasses...they are on top of the dash, just above the glovebox...

Easy to take apart, but hard to put back together.
I have a '78 Datsun B210 that's been in the garage for
over three years - & is supposed to be a "daily driver".
I really envy your skills!

Geez, I have trouble finding time to tighten my alternator belt to see if I can keep the iggy light off...or raise the top for the winter...or to get the tank topped off with gas and stabile.

Camshaft, Going red with black leather/red piping. Hunting glasses is a full time job for me. I guess i'll take the doors apart and the rear chrome off today. Lynda has a doctor appointment later today so it will be a short day for me. More pics later. Bob

Day 2 is in the books! The inner body area is blasted and the dash, etc is out. Tomorrow will be getting the sand out and sanding the blasted areas. It will not look like it changed even though another day will be spent on the project. Bob

Bill, I have a 5 horse 2 stage compressor just for blasting and another 5 horse 80 gallon 2 stage for painting and other shop work. Tony, I was just going to clean and paint the engine bay. Once the first bolt came out it was on!This one should go quick as long as i keep at it.

And it appears to be a remarkably sound car to start with!! Very nice!

OK, now I know that you are only doing this to make the rest of us feel bad. While you were doing all that I did a bit more cogitating on whether or not to adjust the valves and also thought about how to deal with all the play in the front suspension. I'm exhausted.

I have a 4HP CH compressor and a siphon blaster. The compressor will barely handle the blaster if I have a new nozzle in it. Let the nozzle wear and its hopeless. I really need to get a pressure fed blaster.

I love sandblasting!

My blasting compressor is about wore out. I have a pressure blaster and I have to wait for it to catch up. Now day 3 is winding down. I was just going to have a easy day and remove sand and scuff the blasted areas. I started to do that and changed plans about a hour into it. I removed most of the paint from the car and did 2 rust repairs. Here is what it looks like now. Bob
