Just got the crank back from the machine shop today so I'm going to try again to get the engine put back together. After a trial fit with the liners I found these numbers on the liner protrusion. Using the steel figure 8s I had 003-004. Using the copper I had 007-008. I understand the correct measurement should be 003-0055. I was wanting to use the copper F8s because I thought I might get a better seal because I have some minor pitting in the block. These measurement were taken with the sleeves held in place with some large washers on the studs with about 20lbs of torque on the nuts. All was dry also. I was thinking the copper F8s would compress some, but 0035 would be alot of compressing. Any idea how much the copper gaskets will compress with the head torqued down?
