I have a 13 row cooler that has never been install and with my trying to make some progress on the MGA I'm wondering if I should be planning on installing this?

What do you guys think?

It is the #7 below.

I have had one on my 65 B since I got it. It has never caused any problems, and being that is get hot, like Africa hot here in S. Fla, I figure any help that I can give the engine is well worth it. Just my $.02 of course.

Thanks guys.

Steve, two questions for you.

1) How was the run yesterday?

2) Where did you mount your cooler on the MGA? Any pictures?

The run was fantastic! See the local site for photos and discussion. Too bad you couldn't make it.

The cooler on my MGA is behind the valance, which unfortunately offers little airflow. I plan to try it above one of these days, maybe at the next oil change. On the Bs it's above and on the C it's below, with venting.

An oil cooler is a Very Good Thing. Add an in-line thermostat, and it gets better. Even in SoCal, some of those winter mornings can be darned cold, and a t-stat ensures the oil - like the t-stat in the coolant path - stays at just the right temperature.

I run an oil cooler with the thermostat shown in the link from the post above. Works great. That particular thermostat is a bit of a pain to mount though, but I found that a couple of adel clamps around the hose connections, one on each side did the job quite well. Thermostat shown in lower right hand corner of photo.

Thanks guys, and Steve, I'll catch you for driving events later in the year or early 2010. (OMG, did I just write 2010?)

Steve, is the vinyl/rubber trim on the fender/engine compartment seams original or did you just add it for looks? Looks great by the way. Where did you get it?
Thanks

Tim
