TR6 TR6 distributor suggestions?

My distributor on my TR6 is so loose that it actually worked itself loose and stranded me half way to Spokane. One result is that it ended breaking the plastic part on the points that ride against the cam. I keep my car stock. Does anyone know of a source they were happy with in a recent purchase of a distributor? I am not always a fan of reproduced parts. Is this something I should get rebuilt, and if so, does someone have a source for me? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Yep, just send it off to Jeff. It will come back better than new, properly set up for your car. It isn't worth doing it yourself since the parts will cost as much as his expert repair and of course you need special equipment to set and check the advance curve.

Kevin- Take it from me who is completely opposite of you on the stock thing.
Jeff is the person you need. He will rebuild your dizzy to better than new condition.

Oh what the heck! Just because everyone recommended Jeff at Advanced Distributors, I ought to be contrary -- but I can't.

One more vote for Advanced Distributors. Jeff's the MAN!

Got the stock distributor for my J-H back from Advance Distributors last week and it is a beautiful thing. Almost too nice to install. And cost, considering what I sent him was very reasonable.

I didn't think I had a distributor problem, but I like to tinker with things,so I sent my dizzy to Jeff to get the "micro adjustment" wheel. Thought while I was at it, go ahead and get it recurved.
What a difference to have that power kick in and pull that made. Yeah, I got the wheel, but don't fool with it much and when I do, I usually end up back where I started.
