...how can anybody pass up a 1977 L82 Corvette for $1,000?

Last time it was on the road was 1997 - 20 years after it was built!

Stay with me, I'm gonna post about a dozen photos. They are just like I found it - no cleaning up or anything!

My next door neighbor has a 25th anniversary L82 and guess who he calls if something is not quite right? He also has a 98 C5 and will sell the earlier one if he can get his price.

Tony, go around the car with a magnet and if it sticks, there's metal in it - RUN!!

Of course, you have to build another V8 like the one in SSSSnake for the 'Vette!!

Remember, from '75 they had metal floors...no metal in it that didn't come from the factory!

I was being very tongue-in-cheek about the metal comment. The reverse of the old addage about checking for bondo/fiberglass.... Nice score indeed!!

Starting in '75 they put metal floors in them.

The crappy red paint is coming off easily...when I get it down to the crappy grey primer, Ricky, my bodyman, is going to take it down to the origial color, repair the fiberglass problems & prep/paint the engine compartment so I can bring it home & have the engine/trans installed.

I'll use the original 350 auto trans but am gonna install an '86 TPI Corvette engine....right now I'm searching for somebody to work the TPI's wiring harness & computer so it'll hook up to to the '77's wiring harness.

I have to ask why??

That is the most gutless period of Corvettes - around 200 BHP and damned near 2 tons street weight.

By far the least of the breed and not in great shape by the pics. As if you didn't have enough projects. Gotta get that will power thing looked at Tony (do I sound enough like a wife yet?) ;-)
