Bugeye in LA Craigslist

This may be of interest to someone. Obviously no engine or gearbox but if you have already, who knows? I can look at it if someone is interested - I have no relationship to the people that own the company.

Prices must be going up, look at this Midget

A few years ago I was Opel GT hunting. Found one about 250 miles away. Started negotiating and was planning to go view it at $4K. Guy called to tell me he sold it for 9K!! Way beyond market, just because he slapped a high tag and a rich fool walked past.

That BugEye is the RARE "translucent drivetrain" model! That's why the price is high!

Could be worth it IF the engine number could be verified. But the engine ID Tag is also translucent, so including a photo in the add is ALMOST impossible.

You'd have to ask the seller to verify the number (this is done by "feeling" the ID Tag) & then compare this to the Heritage Cert. While you have the seller on the phone, be sure to ask if the muffler bearings are making any unusual noises, AND ask when the air in the tires was last changed.

it's also a green car.....zero emissions.

There are two places in this burg--Sports Car LA and Checkquered Flag in Marina del Rey--which fill Craigslist and eBay with ads for cars at about double to triple their reasonable value. They have some good stuff from time to time, but I've never considered buying anything from them. How do you bargain down from an absurdity to a reasonable price?

I suspect their customers are largely people with too much money, who don't want (or know how) to research prices and spend some time shopping around. Just go to the dealer. LA, unfortunately, is full of such people, ripe for harvest in this way. Cynical, I suppose, but it probably works.
