SWMS hosts NM's best sports car road racing. Events held at Sandia Motorsports 14 turn 1.6 mile road course atop 9 mile hill, West of ABQ.

We invite students, drivers, workers, spectators, and sponsors. More details on the web site below.

If you or a friend have a car you'd like to learn how to drive smoother, faster, better, more safely, there is NO better means than to spend a day in class and on the track honing your skills.

If you know someone with a prepared race car and experience, this is the time and place to bring it out!

SWMS is a safety oriented "gentlemens" race club. We discourage paint exchanges/unsafe driving styles. We encourage you to have a blast!

Basil,

Haven't added to calendar...didn't figure it out.

Friday of event is test and tune. Fee for T&T to track paid upon arrival. May be able to complete tech Friday too.

Shifter Karts are joining SWMS again in 2009. If you haven't watched gas powered rockets flying around at 100 MPH with the pilot's cheeks 2" above the asphalt, you really ought to drive out and watch.

If you or a friend have a recently acquire hot rod, SWMS provides an exceptionally well run high speed drivers school. School welcomes virtually all safe street cars. Must have long sleeved shirt, pants, helmet (even cycle will do), and pass a simple safety tech (nothing loose in car or trunk).

School operates both in the class room and on track. Most students have the instructor with them in the car for immediate feedback. Starts with 3 laps driven by the instructor to familiarize yourself with the track. Then about an hour in class. Then about 20 minutes on track. Class room, track, classroom, track, wrap up.

If anyone has questions, email me as I may not view the forum frequently to get you answers. You will have fun!

Pre register at the clubs website below. Makes it easier to make certain we have adequate instructors.
