I'm having minor issues I was hoping someone could shed some light on. Under the dash on the drivers side, there are white wires that go into the plunger, on one side there are two white wires and on the other there are one, at some point, the previous owner cut and spliced the single wire to connect to the two wires and taped them back together, now when driving the wires get really hot to the point you can smell the rubber sheath burning. I can not find any kind of short or anything, are there any ideas to this, if I unhook the plunger the fuel pump stops working.

Check and clean the ground points at your fuel pump... The wires can get warm but shouldn't be hot. It would seem you have resistance somewhere in the circuit of the pump.

Take a look at the wiring diagram for the car. The diagram shows how one of the terminals on the inertia switch is being used as a splice.
Wiring diagrams are available at https://www.advanceautowire.com click on stock schematics.
There are three main reasons I have found for hot wires; a short, circuit overload (too many amps, too high a power draw), and high resistance caused by faulty connections and/or corrosion.
Make sure all terminals in the circuit are clean and secure.
