Tune in tomorrow night boys and girls, for the latest episode of Engine 2008. This adventure will cover the installation of Justin Wagner's silicone valve cover gasket onto my newly chromed valve cover. It's mucho thicko compared to the cork gasket.

2W,

This silliness will stop soon. I'm almost out of parts to play with.

And money was gone a while ago.....

Paul,
You'll love Justin's silicon gasket. I've had it on my car for at least 5 years now and there has never been a single drop of oil get past it. It is truly leak proof. The best part is that you can take the valve cover off as many times as you want without ever replacing the gasket. I've had mine off 1/2 dozen times, as recently as last week, and it just seals back up with no leaks.

I wish he'd start making those for the after market valve covers.

Justin makes a very nice product, I put one on my TR4 and it is a lot nicer than the cork. He provides nice sealing washers too.

I had a slight problem last time I pulled the cover, seemed like the gasket had grown a little as it didn't want to mate up as easily as the first fitting. But it wasn't too difficult to reuse.

I found this solution for those with after market valve covers:

https://www.roadstergaskets.com/

They're flat and not as nicely crafted as Justin's, but I'm hoping that the silicone will be much better than the cork. I ordered one, I'll let you know how it performs.

Cheers,
Gavin

I emailed that Justin guy 3-4 times without a reply to buy one before I sold my 6, and never got a reply.
