Once again, be part of the biggest British automotive lawn event in California. Over 600 classic, quirky and thoroughly lovable British cars are expected to fill the field at El Camino Park for the 24th Annual Palo Alto British Car Meet.

SUNDAY SHOW - SEPTEMBER 14th
Join us for the Best All British Car Show In The West! Don't have a show car? Don't worry! Daily drivers, vintage racers, street rods & works-in-progress are as welcome as concours quality show cars. Great British food, jazz, new parts, literature, toys, gifts and more fun than you'll be able to tolerate! People's Choice awards in six classes. Join your British car friends for a smashing day at the park. Cars will be placed on the field, by marque, at about 9:00AM, and the fun goes on all day. The registration fee is $25 per car at the gate. There is no preregistration. All participants will receive a commemorative gift. Spectators park and attend free. Again this year we will be visited by the Arcane Auto Society and their wonderful, whimsical cars from around the world. Last year, this was one of our more popular new features and there is no reason why their display will not be bigger and more unusual for 2003!

SATURDAY TOUR - SEPTEMBER 13th
The British Car Meet Tour To The Sea starts at El Camino Park in Palo Alto - the same place as the Sunday Car Show. This is a no-cost option for people who like to drive their cars as well as show them. It will also be open to the Arcane Auto owners. We will be sending cars off between 9:00AM and 10:00AM. Don't be late! The event will end at Cameron's Pub in Half Moon Bay where we will be kicking tyres and telling tall tales in the car park into the afternoon.

DIRECTIONS - El Camino Park is located on the El Camino Real, just north of University Avenue, opposite Stanford Center. From 101 take University Ave west, go under the Alma Street overpass, and turn right onto the El Camino Real. From 280, take the Sandhill Road Exit east and turn right on the El Camino, stay to the right to the University Ave exit, turn left at the overpass, then left again back onto the El Camino heading north.

PLEASE, DO NOT PARK TRAILERS IN THE STANFORD CENTER PARKING LOT! Trailer parking will be available on-site on the south field

All those cars and the event planner gives out one trophy!

Mine never gets trophies anyway. I drive it too much and have never been good at waxing, polishing and putting on make-up. Leave the trophies to the trailer queens and those who crawl under their cars to wipe the frame down after each time off the trailer. I will bet you a that the trophy winner does not go on the Sat tour.

I actually haven't gone the last two years, not because only one trophy. My car most likely would not win any awards. I just felt that the sponsor was making a living off the show and did not want to support that. I also heard one of the clubs that attends talking about who's car they all were going to vote for to win that one trophy. They must have all voted together, that car won.
Perhaps I should go again just to view the nice cars. That is why I like this hobby.

I think the same thing happens at the show in San Deigo in October...

I won't be surprised if it happens everywhere...

Anybody from the South Bay (South of San Jose) planning to attend? Perhaps you would like to caravan up and back. I will start in Morgan Hill and depending upon my departure time may take the scenic route via Uvas Res rd. I plan to return via HWY-1 on Sat then over Hecker Pass to Morgan Hill.
