The Southeastern Regional Triumph Gathering will be returning to Jekyll Island, Georgia on October 24 - 27, 2002. The meet is hosted by the Georgia Triumph Association and is a sanctioned regional event for the Vintage Triumph Register. The theme of the gathering is “Fifty Years of Triumph TR Sports” celebrating the 50 th anniversary of the TR Sports prototype that became the TR-2.
Automotive events include:
Solo II Autocross at the Jekyll Island Airport - Gymkhana - Funkhana - TSD Rallye - Fun Rallye/Tour
Parts Auction - Technical Sessions - Oceanside Concours d’Elegance and Participants Choice Car Show
The gathering takes place at the Jekyll Island Comfort Inn. This oceanfront hotel features a wide variety of conveniences and amenities such as ocean view efficiency suites, mini efficiencies, bedrooms with refrigerators, oceanfront lanai suites with in-room whirlpool baths, free deluxe continental breakfast, Denny’s restaurant, playground, garden deck overlooking the ocean, Olympic-sized pool, and two outdoor hot tubs. The weather at this time of year on Jekyll Island is quite pleasant. Expect the highs during the day to be in the 70s and at night temperatures hover in the low 60s.
Informational brochures and registration materials will be sent out in the spring 2002 Southeastern Regional Announcement.
