Sunbeam Meet in Utah

Can anyone point me out a website/any other information on the Sunbeam Meet in Utah this upcoming summer. I'm just trying to find out which weekend it's happening, any other pertinent information, etc... I don't need to worry about registering as I will just be spectating if I go, but still need to find out more.

Thanks!

Thanks all...

If I do go it will be a bit of a trip (1 to 2 days one way), but I enjoy going to major meets like this even if I don't have an example of that make to show off, when I went to the Int'l Citroen Meet in Massachusetts two years ago (without a Citroen) it was a 10 hour drive either way and I just arranged local cheap accomodation on my own to keep costs down (youth hostels are great

), and had a fantastic weekend hanging out at the meet, chatting with people from all over the world (discussing politics/car issues with a German guy until 7:30 P.M. Saturday night on the car show lawn...), and taking lots of pictures too. I even ran into a guy from my British car club for the first time - also down from Ontario for the meet in his Citroen ID19 (he also has a Wolseley 6/99). Great meet! side note... is it just me or do I get the impression that some of these national meets are only affordable for the wealthy, often being hosted at expensive hotels, not all of us are rolling in dough

Are any of you guys planning on going with your Sunbeam's and/or other Rootes Groups vehicles? Maybe see some of you there in the summer if I end up going...

bang bang,

Is that a RHD model? Sounds nice! I believe from the P5 series of Rover they only sold the 6-cylinder models in North America (ie. pre-1968). If I'm down there this summer I'll try to look you up if possible. Check out the club I belong, British Saloon Car Club of Canada - www.geocities.com/motorcity/7967 - lots of American members as well.

And if you ever need parts, I know a guy in Prince Edward Island, Canada (on the east coast) with lots of Rover P5 parts, plus a small Rover collection of his own.

If you are coming to Utah for the Suni it can be a bit pricey to stay in Park City. You might want to stay in Heber, only about 15 minutes from PC. Or you can stay in Salt Lake City but that is about 30 minutes away.
I live about 50 minutes from Park City so I am going to drive up most days and probably stay 1 or 2 nights.

Yep the old girl is a right hand drive it was shipped over from Romford Essex about 20 year ago and has been siting for most of the time so we have got a lot to do on her still. I do most of the manual work and my girl friend points out things that I have missed

Rob.
You lucky guy.
Must be in Peachland British Columbia at that time. However there is Ralley in the Valley for LBCs so I think we will drive the Lister and take it in just before. It is only 25 miles from where we will be.
Enjoy

OK... didn't make it to that meet, did just come across this photo album of a Sunbeam meet (I assume the Utah one) in Webshots.

The pictures are only of Alpine roadsters that were there - any BCF member cars in this album?

For anyone who attended... any other interesting Rootes Group stuff that attended? ie. Hillman, Humber, other Sunbeam

sunbeamjim's photo albums

Actually this meet was in Dayton Ohio the last week of July thru the 1st of August. It was sponsored by the Sunbeam Alpine Owners Club of America. We had about 40 cars and 100 people there. It was a lot of fun, including getting the US Air Force museum to ourselves Saturday evening for brousing and a banquet. A great time was had by all.

My apologies... I wish people would actually correctly identify the pictures they post from meets and more specifically - WHERE the car meet was, I always do that when I post pictures, oh well...

So is your car in there Mike? I assume this meet was all Sunbeam Alpine's only then

Even though it was the Alpine owners there were several Tigers and 1 Minx. But, it's was one of the few shows were Alpines outnumbered Tigers. My Alpine isn't running at the moment so I brough my Tiger. It's the last one on page 4 and first of page 5 in the Invasion album 1. It isn't perfect, and dirty from the pervious day's road rally, but I did all the work myself.
As far as the identification of the show and location, I know the guy who put the photos up and I don't think he expected much of anyone to find them beyond those of us who belong to the SAOCA.

And Mike,

You're also talking to one of the most meticulous people you'll ever meet, all my Webshots car pictures are labelled with (to the best of my knowledge) what year and type of car it is, and most of them also have where the picture was taken (ie. which car show). I often see albums in Webshots where pictures don't have a proper description and you're left to guess what it is, my personal pet peeve, but then maybe it's just me... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
