Back Seat?

Thanks to the responses that I have so far read, I am even more interested in an Alpine.

Am I imagining things, or did I see a back seat in one of these? It was in a photo on the internet, but it sure looked like a back seat.

A back seat would be great, but its absence would not be a deal breaker.

Yes, there is a back seat area. Because of limited leg room in back, it is difficult to put a passenger behind the driver (unless the driver is short). If your front seat passenger is not overly-tall, there is room for a passenger in the back on that side. The front seats tilt forward to ease entry and exit. The GT version has more back seat room than the convertible. I don't know if the Harrington LeMans hardtops were so equipped.

re a Gt having more room than a standard alpine is sure a new one.I believe the seat area is identical as the so called pleated cushion [seat] is exactly the same GT or not.Mind you the area looks bigger due to the GT having no top stored and covered.

Thanks. I was considering the back seat as a space for my kids for short Sunday drives. They are still pretty young and should fit ... I think.

I'm 6'0", and have the driver's seat jammed against that "back seat"; leg room = zero. Doesn't matter for me, as the rollbar and it's diagonals chew up that space anyhow, although sometimes it would be nice to be able to stuff in a cooler or other parcels there.

If you can ride w/the seat slid forward, you might be able to seat the kids back there. Indeed, I recall an old newsletter story, reprinted somewhere, about a Tiger owner going cross-country when new (the car, not the country) with wife, one kid, luggage and a dog.

Took out "false floor" on passenger side, to slide RH seat forward, probably got rear legroom that way ( or stuffed dog down there

Well, I'm 6'3, so I don't see any cross country trips coming up anytime soon. However, over the years I have grown adept at driving forward for short distances.

Ah, by the time I get one, they won't want to be seen with me anyway.
