My lil' MKV finally started up! ('67 Alpine)
Long in the works, couple years to get to this point!
Many thanks to those providing firing tips, I discovered the distributor was a problem too, despite being re-manu, it didn't quite fit into it's mating shaft down in the block, had to disassemble the distributor and grind it skinnier to fit the slot. (the offest was noted, but not the issue).
But I noticed fuel gushing out of the carb during my 15 seconds of running fame! I fear the fuel regulator is no longer effective. It has no discernable markings - any tips on a replacement?
I have an AC mechanical pump (with custom spacer!)
Even with it set to 1/2 lbs pressure, it still came out the carburetor 'bowl'.
Would much appreciate any tips of experience in this arena.
I should hope to drive it this weekend, in such case I will photograph & submit this weekend also!
(a photo in the garage is simply not acceptable!)
