5" Servo for MK I Tiger

Does anyone have a rebuild kit for the 5" Girling Servo or know where I can get one? US suppliers such as Sunbeam Specialties don't have them and don't know when they might get them. The UK supplier says he has them but I have heard some negative reports about his reliability.

I have two servos and only need one, once I get it rebuilt. The other is available if anyone needs it.

I would try Rootes Post Vintage at[www.rootesparts.com/index.htm]. They are in the netherlands and I got valve springs from them. Service was very good and had I them in a short time.It is billed through a US importer.

Thanks for the info. I tried them and the response was that they had the kits but I should not buy one and instead get a Lockheed replacement. Is there a message here? Most suppliers don't have the parts and the one that does doesn't want to sell them. I am trying to keep the car as original as possible.

Go to a Volvo dealer and get to know the the counterman in the parts department.He might be able to help you as Volvo used girling boosters.You might luck out at a wrecker and find a good one.Lockheed was a good replacement booster and at one time Rick did carry them.If you go to the girling kit I would find a good brake shop to do the job. I mean one where it will be done to your satisfaction no matter if they have to open it again.Make sure that it can be set up on the machine before they are done.It took 3 times for mine in the lister but it is perfect and very EASY to brake.Don't give up to easy. The other solution is to go to 3/4 MC. and by pass the booster.I know as I did this on the 62 and believe me it stops great.
Its cold but no snow so I can't go skiing

Thanks for the good information. I will check it out. The Dutch source came back with a price of $395 for the Lockheed servo and bracket, plus shipping. I will bypass the servo for the moment while I follow up on your suggestions. We haven't had enough rain to get the mushrooms growing. I go out and hunt for them, anyway.
