And gee-whiz, Basil, you could at least use a picture of _my_ car to head the Sunbeam forum; want me to e-mail you a pic?

That's a possibility. In the mean time, if you have pictures on a web site somewhere you can post them here in a post simply by using UBB codes and pointing to the picture.

For example, say I have a picture of my Jag at https://www.britishcars.com/pictures/cyjag1.jpg

If I wanted to post that picture here, I would simply use the same address (must include the https:// part) but I would put the UBB codes for image at the front and back like this:

{img}https://www.britishcarforum.com/pictures/cyjag1.jpg{/img} Except instead of using {}, use square brackets [ ] Then when you save your post, and look at it, the picture in question will be displayed.

Cheers,
Basil

Basil, I don't have a website of my own, but there are quite a few pics on the Tiger Web Site of my car; go to ---

https://www.corpdemo.com/tiger/pictures/images.html

--- and look for anything w/my name: Larry Wright. Hey, I was just kidding, but you might as well picture a car of a forum member...

Speaking of Tigers, I happened to be watching a re-run of the old "Get Smart" show and I realized that in the opening part of the show, Max drives up in a Red Tiger. Anyone know anything about that car? I wonder if it still exists and who owns it.

OH, for a story from someone who _almost_ bought the car; they could, of course, tell us "missed it by _that_ much".

AFAIK, the wherabouts of the car is unknown to the various Tiger clubs. The "titles" car was Don Adams' own car. There's a picture that surfaces from time to time of him driving, apparently to the dump, w/two metal trash cans stuffed behind the seats -- which is a _tight_ space! Tiger lore tells that Mr. Adams eventually let his two teenage daughters drive the car, both of whom wrecked it.

The "gimmick car" from the show was an Alpine (had to tell the difference, isn't it?), which in part makes room for the disappearing cannon alongside the engine.

BTW, I was at British Car Day in MD, this past weekend, 400 cars, and I brought home the 2nd place trophy in the Sunbeam Class.

Didn't know if any other forum members attended.

I think the SB Tiger is one of the coolest cars ever made. It doesn't look as fast as it is, which I'm sure catches many a would-be hotrodder by surprise when you leave em in the dust!

George.

PS - your car is really great!
