I found this nearby
It doesn't look expensive, except in the rebuilding cost.
It can maybe be called a British car, since it's made in Ireland. Goes by the name Trojan. (makers of Elva)

I can't think of any reason that would cause me to talk you out of buying it. I actually have a Dinky or Corgi version of the Trojan from when I was a boy, and I have some affection for the little things.

I say get it.

I won't Hector you, or suggest a trip to Paris. That little thing looks like Helen wheels. You should Troy to get it.

OK I wasn't thinking that way, I was thinking you might as well get THIS Trojan since you won't be getting the girl with it to need the other kind.

That being said - get it!

You're talking to the wrong person... I believe I've heard that micro cars (in general) these days are actually quite valuable on the collectible market, and I'm told that in some ways they are an easier restoration because there is less of everything to restore...

There's certainly less bodywork.
Not sure about less rust though /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

These are actually desirable and well built microcars. They were designed by Heinkel (as in aircraft) during a period after the war when they were prohibited from making aircraft. The cars originally had Heinkel emblems.

Trojan was near Croydon (wasn't there an RAF airfield there that attracted Heinkels during the war?) and later imported motor scooters and designed and built karts. The cars were built in Ireland & some in Argentina. (Trivia: They were not the only British car company to go into karts - does anyone know another one?) They also assembled Elva Couriers as racingenglishcars mentioned in his post.

Most Trojans must surely rank as the most uninteresting-looking car ever built. 2-cylinder 2-stroke that sometimes started, with the help of an internal lever. Negligible performance unless you got out and pushed it. Solid tyres.
They made a van that kept on selling though.

Didn't they make some early Elva-McLaren racers? I think so. They also made a Formula 1 car some time in the 70s.

Well described, Roger. An envelope bodied weed whacker.

How can you say that's unintresting? It's gotta be one of the oddest cars around. How many cars can you think of that have a lever inside to assist in starting?
If that was anywhere near me it'd be mine!!!!
Of course, that's one of my downfalls, the odder a vehicle, the more I like it. Anything out of the ordinary.
Even though it's a homely little thing, I just wanna drive it around.
